Do International Baccalaureate credits count at Yale?

Yale University, like many other highly selective universities, does not automatically grant credit for International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. While they may consider IB coursework *in the admissions process*, they don't typically award college credit based solely on IB scores.

Yale's policy emphasizes the holistic review of an applicant's academic record, and IB scores can certainly be a positive factor in that assessment. However, once admitted, students typically begin their coursework afresh. Advanced placement (AP) exams are more frequently used to award college credit.
