The TEAS was created and is administered by Assessment Technologies Institute. ATI is an assessment company that specializes in nursing and prenursing exams. The TEAS is designed to evaluate the student nurse's knowledge of math, science, reading and English.
Prenursing students should expect to answer a total of 170 questions in the four sections. Each question is multiple choice, with the possibility of four different answers.
Test takers are given 209 minutes to complete all 170 questions. Questions not answered during this time will be scored as incorrect.
The TEAS benefits nursing schools by providing critical information on the student's ability to succeed in school.
