How to Pass the New Hampshire CDL Written Test

Getting a commercial driver's license is one way to get out and see new places. It can lead to a job for those who love to drive, and it is financially worthwhile. Getting your CDL in New Hampshire has a few requirements. The CDL licensee must be 18 years old, and until he is 21 he can operate only in New Hampshire. After age 21 the CDL licensee is free to drive on the interstate to travel to other states.

      Contact the local Department of Motor Vehicles in New Hampshire for information on what is needed for the CDL test. Gather all important information such as birth certificate, previous licenses, ID and Social Security card.

      Ask friends or relatives with CDL licenses or who have taken the test about what to expect when taking the test. Find out any important details that may be needed.

      Search online for practice tests or study guides. Take these tests multiple times on several different sites, because tests for the New Hampshire CDL may vary. Study each question and answer thoroughly and review as many times as needed to memorize all of the information.

      Make question-and-answer cards if necessary out of 3-inch-by-5-inch notecards. Write a question on one side of the card and the answer on the other side. Have a friend or family member read each question until you have memorized them all. Use bright cards in several colors to keep your attention.

      Study the CDL book and learn as much as possible about training. Contact the DMV at least a week ahead of time to schedule an appointment to take the test. Before the morning of the test be sure to get at least eight hours of sleep to be alert and focused the day of the test.
