Why students the PARCC test?

Students took the PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) test because it was a standardized assessment aligned to the Common Core State Standards. States that adopted the Common Core used PARCC as a way to measure student progress and school accountability in meeting those standards. The test was intended to provide data on student readiness for college and careers. However, PARCC is no longer widely used; most states have since moved to other assessment systems.
