List all the vocabulary words. Look up and write down definitions for each word. Review these definitions to insure that you know what each word means. If you are using a dictionary that provides example sentences for each word, review the sentences as well. You cannot write your story if you do not know the meaning of the vocabulary words.
Choose a topic for your story, taking into consideration the definition of the words. The best way to do this is to start with one word and let the definitions of the other words dictate the direction in which the story will proceed. Looking for vocabulary words that could potentially be characters or part of the setting can be a helpful start.
Review the remaining words and their definitions if you find you have completed your story and not incorporated all the vocabulary words. This will refresh your memory and possibly help you think of a way to include the word in the story.
Read over your story and fit any remaining words in where appropriate if you find that you have not yet fit them all in your story. The word may fit as a small detail rather than a prominent part of the story.
Rework the story completely if you find there is no way that you can logically fit all your vocabulary words. Use your action words first, and pair your action words with descriptive words. This way you can start with a different train of thought and have better success including all the vocabulary words.
