How to Make Homemade Bubble Liquid

Blowing bubbles is a favorite activity at many homes, but good bubble liquid is expensive and cheap bubble liquid doesn't work very well. However, with a few ingredients you can make your own bubble liquid. The secret is to move beyond simple dish soap and add corn syrup to the mix, making the bubble solution hardier and more fun for the kids.

Things You'll Need

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup dish detergent
  • 1/4 light corn syrup
  • Bowl or gallon jug

Instructions

    • 1

Use a funnel or spouted measuring cup to carefully pour the water, dish detergent and light corn syrup into the rinsed out jug, or simply measure out and pour it into a large bowl.

    • 2

Place the lid on the jug and tighten securely. Generously shake the jug to mix the ingredients. If using a bowl, whisk the ingredients using a fork or whisk to thoroughly mix the bubble liquid.

    • 3

Pour the bubble liquid into a shallow pan or tub so it is easier to dip the wands into the bubble liquid.
