Winter Pre-K Bulletin Board Ideas

Fun holidays and snow help make winter an enjoyable time of the year. Get preschool students excited about the season by decorating classroom bulletin boards with fun and festive displays that showcase the holidays and events of winter. Make these displays even more interesting by showcasing students' work on these boards.
  1. Shaking Up Winter Fun

    • Celebrate the winter season with a bulletin board modeled after a snow globe. Line the back of the bulletin board in whatever color you would like. From blue construction paper, create a large semi-circle and hang it in the middle of the board. Pre-cut snowflakes on white paper and give one to each student. Help children add sparkle to the snowflakes by applying glue and silver glitter to them. Create a pine tree out of green construction paper and make it look like it is snow covered by adding white paint to it. Attach the pine tree to the bottom half of the semi-circle. Affix children's snowflakes on the semi-circle. Cover the semi-circle with saran wrap. Title the board, "Shaking Up Winter Fun."

    Our Hearts Are All Aflutter

    • Celebrate Valentine's Day with this bulletin board. Cut rectangular shapes out of white construction paper and hearts out of red construction paper. Provide each child with a rectangle and two hearts. Help children glue a heart to either side of the rectangles, forming a butterfly's body. Have children decorate their butterflies with googly eyes, sequins, stickers, glitter and markers. Line the back of the bulletin board with pink paper and attach the butterflies to the board. Title the display, "Our Hearts Are All Aflutter."

    In the Winter, We Wear...

    • This bulletin board display teaches children how to stay warm during the cold days of winter. Line the background of the bulletin board with light blue paper. Create different types of winter clothing out of construction paper---such as mittens, hats, coats and scarves. Provide students with the different articles of clothing and ask them to decorate them with different art supplies. Display the different articles of clothing in groups on the bulletin boards---the coats with the coats, the hats with the hats and so forth. Title the board, "In the Winter, We Wear..." Next to each item, write, "We Wear (Hats, Mittens, Scarves) because..." Have a discussion with students about why they wear each item of clothing. Write down their responses next to the groups of clothing on the board.
