Preschool Art Alphabet Activities

Many things can bring to life the alphabet for preschoolers. When you are working with kids, making fun and creative activities can help them remember what is being taught because it makes the lessons more interesting and tangible.
  1. Emotions Poster

    • An emotions poster can be used to represent the letter "E." With an instant or digital camera, take photos of the students expressing different emotions and post them on one poster board. You can take the activity further by listing the emotions and identifying the first letter of each.

    Fishing for ABCs

    • Fishing for ABCs can be done as students cut out different letters from magazines. Have them glue magnets to the back of each and then use a small pole and magnet to "fish" for the letters until they complete the alphabet.

    B Mask

    • Have students make a mask with an ice-pop stick and a cut out of the letter "B." The students can decorate it with other letters that make a word starting with "B."
