Create charts for things the students like and dislike -- for example, "Snacks I like the most" or "My least favorite color." List items for each chart and put a picture of each item on the appropriate chart. Give each student a sticky note. Instruct your students to place their sticky notes above the appropriate item. Afterward, discuss the snack most kids like and the color most kids dislike.
Give each student two pieces of construction paper, a magazine and a glue stick. Instruct your students to cut out pictures from magazines regarding times they really like or really dislike. They should then paste all of the items they like onto one piece of construction paper and their dislikes on the other paper. Afterward, students can share their collages with the class.
Sit in a circle with your students. Whisper into the ear of the student sitting next to you. Say something you like and something you don't like. For example, you could say, "I like butterflies but I don't like spiders." Each student will whisper into the ear of the student sitting next to him. The last student says the phrase out loud. Continue the game so that each student has a chance to start the chain.
Have your students stand in a circle while you play danceable music in the background. One student stands in the middle and yells out something that she likes to do -- swimming, for example. Instruct all of the students who like swimming to pretend to swim. Students who don't like swimming should stand still. Continue with this until all of the children have had a chance to stand in the middle.
