- Minerva's daughter Minerva Argentina "Minou" Mirabal Reyes (1949–2001) was a doctor and educator. She married Jaime David Fernandez Mirabal, her cousin and the son of Minerva's brother Jaime Emilio Mirabal. She served Dominican ambassador to UNESCO and was director of the Museum of the Mirabal Sisters in Salcedo. She died of cancer in 2001 at the age of 52.
- Minerva's son Manolo Tavárez Mirabal (born 1956) is a lawyer, politician, and human rights activist. He has served in the Dominican Senate and the Chamber of Deputies and has been a vocal critic of the Trujillo regime. He is married to Yolanda Martinez, and they have two daughters, Minerva Yolanda and Maria Jose.
