- School Structure: The school shall have a documented plan of organization and operation including organizational charts, administrative policies and procedures, personnel policies, and school calendar (minimum of 36 weeks).
- School Governance: The school shall adhere to a defined governance structure and policies that ensures: authority, responsibility, accountability, and transparency in its decision-making and overall management of the school. The governance structure shall facilitate meaningful parent involvement.
- School Finance: The school shall have a written financial plan and accounting system that assures its financial viability and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- School Safety: The school shall maintain and implement a school safety plan that protects the health, safety and well-being of students, staff and visitors.
- Student Support: The school shall have a comprehensive program to provide and coordinate student support services.
- Curriculum: The school shall establish a curriculum that is vertically articulated Pre-K - Grade 12, or if offering less than a complete PK-12 sequence, articulated for the grade spans offered including a well-defined PreK program when Pre-K is offered, ensuring that PreK-3 are developmentally appropriate.
- Staffing: The school shall employ an administration and faculty, qualified by education, training, and experience, to provide students with a well-rounded and high quality education.
- Assessment and Accountability: The school shall administer annual assessments to students in specific grade levels and content areas, and to report the results to parents and the state as required by law and regulation. The results shall be used to measure student progress and to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement in the school's offerings.
- Continuous Improvement: The school shall have a process in place to monitor its educational program, and identify and implement evidence-based improvements.
