Kindergarteners can show their class pride by creating a class t-shirt. Use fabric paint or iron-on letters to make the shirts with your students. Include the teacher's name, the school name and the class year in the design of the shirts. Help students customize their t-shirts with hand prints, their names or any other decorations they choose. Allow the students to wear the t-shirts at end-of-year assemblies and on the last day of school to show class and school spirit.
Using paints and poster board, help your kindergarteners paint pictures of what they are going to do or what they hope to do during their summer vacations. The picture should show them doing the activity; ideas include going to the beach, camping, playing at the park or flying on an airplane. Each kindergartener can share her poster with the rest of the class.
Your kindergarten class can make its own yearbook. Give each student a piece of paper that includes his photograph. Allow him to decorate the page with pictures that symbolize who he is and his favorite memories from the year in kindergarten. This type of project can be done in class or be sent home to allow parents to assist with ideas. Copy each child's sheet, then bind it into one class yearbook. Leave blank pages at the back of the yearbook for the students to write their names in each other's books.
Kindergarten graduation is a traditional event for many schools. It symbolizes the entry into full time elementary school. Kindergarten graduation activities include a graduation ceremony where students sing graduate-themed songs and are given diplomas for their completion of kindergarten. Students can make their own graduation caps with construction paper, a fastener and string, and wear them with pride on their graduation day.
