Provide students with red, green and white acrylic tri-beads and pipe cleaners. Have students string alternating red and white beads on a pipe cleaner to make a candy cane color pattern. Fold over and twist both ends of the pipe cleaner to hold beads in place. Bend the string of beads into a candy cane shape. Invite students to repeat the craft using a pattern of four green beads and two red beads. Shape the string of beads into a circle, then twist the ends together to make a Christmas wreath.
Give students a 12-by-18-inch sheet of white construction paper. Have students paint one of their hands with green finger paint and stamp a handprint at the top of the paper, fingers pointing down. Continue to stamp handprints with two in the next row and three in the following row, forming the shape of a tree. Let the handprint Christmas trees dry. Invite the students to use paints to add ornaments, light strings and a tree topper to their handprint Christmas trees.
Have students cut a large triangle out of red construction paper. Make tall triangles with two longer sides and one shorter side. The triangles will form the red portion of Santa's hat. Provide students with glue and cotton balls. Have students glue two or three rows of cotton balls along the short side of their triangle to make the bottom trim of Santa's hat. Finish the hat by having students glue one or two cotton balls to the top corner of the hat.
Provide students with three craft sticks, two googly eyes, a red pompom, a 6-inch piece of yarn and craft glue. Have students place their craft sticks in a triangle shape, slightly overlapping at the corners. Glue the craft sticks in place. Glue a red pompom to one corner of the triangle to make Rudolph's nose. Glue googly eyes to each side of Rudolph's face, about two-thirds of the way up from Rudolph's nose. Tie yarn to the top craft stick to make a hanger.
