Virtual Community School (VCS) offers you an alternative to traditional schooling using interactive on-line curriculum. Each child enrolled receives a free computer, printer, scanner and internet access for as long as they are enrolled. The entire program uses digital textbooks and interactive streaming videos; you will not receive physical textbooks with the VCS program. VCS adheres to the current Ohio Department of Education Academic Content Standards.
The Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) uses K-12 curriculum of six "core courses" that form a complete education. Your child will receive a computer and subsidized internet, along with textbooks, CDs, videos and other hands-on materials. Licensed teachers are available by phone or on-line and OHVA meets all the academic standards set by the State of Ohio.
Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow (ECOT) is a free on-line school that has been around since 2000. ECOT provides a computer and internet connection to all its students. All of the classroom "materials" your child will need are found on-line through the IQuity Learning Suite. ECOT's program is accredited and follows the Ohio Department of Education standards.
At Connections Academy, your child will work with a teacher on-line, by phone, and through the mail. Students receive a computer, printer, internet subsidy, textbooks, workbooks, and lesson plans. Younger children will receive more books and materials while older students will spend more time on-line. Connections Academy is fully accredited and its teachers are fully licensed by the State of Ohio.
