How to Do a Box Book Report

Book reports give students an opportunity to share their understanding of a story. The ability to comprehend what is read is an important skill used in every subject throughout school. Students begin working on reading comprehension early in their elementary school years by completing assignments such as book reports. Cereal-box book reports allow students to create a visual representation for their report.

Instructions

    • 1

Take notes about what you will include on the box. This should include characters, plot and favorite quote from the book. The teacher may also have additional requirements for information on the box.

    • 2

Measure the front, back and sides of the box. Use these measurements to cut out panels from construction paper.

    • 3

Decorate the front of box with title and picture, or other information as instructed by the teacher. More information can be added to the back. For the sides of the box, one side can be the "ingredients" of the story, such as setting. The other side can be a short summary of the plot.

    • 4

Glue the panels onto the box. Allow to dry overnight.
