Biking, rollerblading, walking or any kind of physical activity that all family members can do often requires little planning. If the weather is nice, make sandwiches for a picnic and make it an all-day outing. You stay around the neighborhood or go to a local park.
If your kids are assigned projects to complete over break, make it a group activity. Have the family set up shop in one large space and help one another complete work, school or home projects. Turn on music rather than the television to keep everyone stimulated but not distracted.
Rather than going out of town to see family, do something out of the ordinary and invite your family to come to town during the school break. Set up times with other parents for their children to come over and visit yours as many of your child's friends will be off from school at the same time and looking for something to do.
Playing different board games can create hours of fun for children and adults. Plus, children can improve their problem-solving abilities and memory skills from playing board games. Select games that all the kids can play.
