Draw an octopus on a large piece of poster board. Use scissors to cut out the octopus and have children color and decorate it. On each of the eight tentacles, use a vivid marker to write an octopus fact. Hang the octopus on a wall to display it.
Connect several pieces of white or blue construction paper together vertically. Label each section with a depth of the ocean. In each depth, place different animals, plants and creatures that dwell there.
Have each child draw a fish in the center of a piece of paper. Then draw lines outward from different parts of the fish and label each of the parts. Use a variety of fish to showcase different and unique parts not seen on other fish.
Use a blue piece of construction paper or poster board to illustrate different methods of traveling on and under the ocean. Include drawings of submarines, scuba divers, dive cages, snorkeling, boats and other devices.
Assign different marine animals for children to draw and cut out. Create a large world map and label each ocean. Have the children take their drawn animals and tape them onto the sections of the world where it resides. Do this until the map is full of ocean creatures.
