In Spring 2010, more than 230,000 students took the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, or FCAT. According to the Miami-Dade County Public School District, grade 10 students increased their scores in reading and math by twice the state average. All students, except those in ninth grade, met or exceeded the averages of other students throughout the state. Only the school average scores are published each year, but individual student scores are recorded.
