Generate a list of questions with the teacher beforehand that she can ask your daughter that will help her learn about the child. Set up a summer correspondence between your daughter and her new teacher. Contact the teacher ahead of time to see if she would be willing to become your daughter's pen-pal for the summer months, or for the weeks leading up to the new school year. Encourage your daughter to write letters to her teacher that showcase who she is; what she likes, what she doesn't like, her hobbies and her interests. The teacher can write letters that encourage your daughter to share information about herself and the two can exchange their letters via the mail.
Create an "All About Me" book with your daughter. Encourage your daughter to draw pictures that illustrate her personality and things that she likes. Alternatively, she can cut out pictures from magazines and glue them to pages to create collages that illustrate her personality and likes. Prompt your daughter to write brief explanations of the pictures, or if she is not yet able to write, pen her explanations for her. Assemble the pictures as a book and create a cover that features a photo of your daughter and her name. Send the book to the teacher through the mail prior to the start of school, or hand-deliver the book to the teacher in the classroom a few days before school starts or on the first day of school.
