Make a list of adjectives that describe your ideal teacher. Determine if your teacher fits the criteria.
Observe the teacher closely in her natural habitat. Take note of lazy behaviors you observe including times and date of the occurrences.
Set up a meeting to speak with the teacher about problems you experience in the class. Let the teacher think you have the problem, he will be more likely to meet with you and deal with the situation.
Arrive on time to the meeting. Inform your teacher that while you really like her as a person you are unsure of what she expects of you. Once the teacher has told you her expectations for students, tell her that you need help to succeed. Use some of your ideal teacher adjectives to describe what's missing. This offers encouragement and bolsters morale.
Outline what help you need-"Can I have my assignments graded the week I hand them in, so I will have time to redo them if necessary?"
Report the teacher's lazy behaviors (recorded in step 2) to his superior if you see no improvement within a week. Let their supervisor handle it.
