Draw two rows from a bubble test sheet on the blackboard. Label the bubbles in each row A, B, C, D and E, as they are on the bubble test sheet.
Pass out bubble test sheets and pencils to the students so that they will see precisely how your instructions translate to the real test. Explain to the students that bubble test sheets must be filled in using only pencil.
Write "Wrong" next to the top row of bubbles.
Cross out the 'A' bubble in the top row. Explain to your students that crossing out the bubble is an incorrect way to mark the answer.
Draw a check in the 'B' bubble in the top row. Explain to your students that checking off the bubble is also an incorrect way to mark the answer.
Fill in the 'C' bubble so that the entire bubble is not filled in. Explain to your students that they must fill in the correct bubble completely.
Fill in the 'D' bubble so that the pencil marks continue outside of the bubble. Explain to your students that, while they need to fill in the entire bubble, their pencil marks must stay within the bubble.
Tell students that if they change their answer, they must make sure to erase all the pencil marks from the initial bubble that they filled in.
Write 'Right' next to the bottom row of bubbles.
Fill in one of the bubbles in the bottom row so that the inside of the bubble is completely filled, and there are no stray pencil marks outside of the bubble. Remind students that this is the correct way to fill in a bubble.
Instruct students to practice correctly filling in the bubble test sheets.
Tell students that if they accidently mark the bubble test sheet anywhere outside of the correct bubbles, they must erase those extra marks.
Walk around the classroom and make additional suggestions to students who are incorrectly filling in the bubble test sheet.
