8th Grade Spanish Smartboard Activities

SMART Technologies has transformed the way teachers deliver knowledge to students by adding interactive technology tools. Modern languages, such as Spanish, can be taught using the SMART Board and related products. You can incorporate these tools in your lesson plans. Proper implementation of technology not only satisfies the learning outcomes of your course but also engages your students and makes learning Spanish fun.
  1. Write SMART

    • Create Notebook PowerPoint lessons and use the SMART Board to present it. Write on the board as you teach using the SMART pens, which are located in the pen panel. Since the SMART Board has different color pens, an eraser and other writing tools, students can visualize better in this Spanish classroom. For example, you can write on the board to introduce new vocabularies, edit grammar structure and highlight key phrases. Then you can invite students to the SMART Board to present their solutions.

    Move SMART

    • You can create a matching exercise using the SMART Board to teach new vocabularies. Use the SMART Notebook clip-arts library to insert pictures of new vocabularies. Then randomly put the corresponding terms on the board. Ask students to come to the SMART Board to match the picture with the right term by moving the objects. You can also create similar conversation dialog order matching on the SMART Board. All objects, texts and pictures, are movable on the SMART Board. They can also be enlarged, highlighted or deleted easily. Interactive learning helps students remember new Spanish terms and rules faster.

    PLAY SMART

    • SMART Technologies website has many pre-formatted SMART Board lesson games that you can use for your classes. For example, you can create a Jeopardy game to test your students' knowledge on Spanish. You can put different categories, such as terminology, history, conjugation and fun facts. The SMART Board can record the scores and project audio of the game. Most games can be incorporated into regular lesson plans or as test review exercises. You can also use the Senteo Interactive Response System (the clickers) so that the entire class can participate in these games.

    Practice SMART

    • Students can use the SMART Board to practice their Spanish language fluency in class. You can pass the SMART Audio around the classroom for students to answer questions in Spanish or read conversation dialog from their textbook. Their sounds will be recorded. You can then replay the audio and correct any errors. Students can also use the SMART Audio to present their projects. Even in a big classroom, a student's response is projected so that everyone in the class can hear.
