Geometry Proofs Games

Interactive and printed geometry proof games can help students become familiar with proof properties while being entertained. Games for geometric proofs range from virtual flashcards and animated online demonstrations, to printed board games and activities that can be downloaded from educational sites on the Web.
  1. Math Court Virtual and Printed Geometry Proofs Board Game

    • Math Court is a free geometry proofs game provided on The Math Lab website. This game comes in virtual and printed board game formats. There are seven skill levels, and the game can be played in teams or alone. The object of the game is to move around the game board to the finish first, making moves based on correct answers to proof questions. The online version has a playing board and cards that pop up while the board game can be printed out, along with the proof questions and hint cards.

    Math Warehouse Proof Properties Quiz and Proof Manipulatives

    • The Math Warehouse website offers a geometric proof prep properties quiz that allows players to enter solutions to proof questions online with answers provided. Math Warehouse also has many interactive activities about proofs for congruent triangles, including manipulatives for postulates that prove congruent triangles, in addition to coordinate geometry proofs, isosceles triangle proofs and indirect proofs. The site has a printable worksheet full of proof problems and activities as well.

    Class Zone Geometry Proofs Crossword Puzzle, Flipcards and Shapes in Space

    • ClassZone.com offers a geometry proofs crossword puzzle, flipcards and an animated game called Shapes in Space. The crossword puzzle is played online, and students are told if their answers are correct by clicking on the "Check Answers" button. The flipcards are virtual flashcards that reveal the definitions for proof terms when activated by a mouse. Shapes in Space has players select the right geometric shape then quizzes them before advancing in the game.

    Pythagorean Theorem Manipulative and Quizlet's Interactive Proof Activities

    • The Pythagorean Theorem game on the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives' website prompts players to drag and drop shapes to illustrate the Pythagorean Theorem with two proofs. Quizlet has over 60 geometry proof flashcard sets that include worksheets and customizable quizzes for topics, such as proofs vocabulary, postulates, theorems and two-column proofs. Flashcards and worksheets have an audio component or can be printed out, and the quizzes can be taken interactively online or printed out as well.
