What Are Peck Schools?

Peck Schools in the United States can refer to a private or public school, a single school or a district, schools within a city named Peck or even part of a university. From state to state, Peck schools represent organizations of education. In all instances faculty and students at Peck schools strive for academic excellence and feature core values in their mission or vision statements.
  1. The Peck School in New Jersey

    • The Peck School located in Morristown, New Jersey, is an independent, coeducational day school for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Originally founded in 1893, the New Jersey Peck School was incorporated in 1944 and infuses moral development and character education into their academic curriculum. Nationally recognized in December 2010 by the Center for Spiritual Excellence in Education (CSEE) for excellent practices in ethical education, the New Jersey Peck School is accredited with The Commission on Elementary Schools, the Middle States Association and the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools.

    Peck Schools in Michigan

    • Located in Peck, Michigan, The Peck Community School District includes Peck Elementary School and Peck Jr./Sr. High School. The two schools that make up the district are housed on East Lapeer Street in Peck and have a single superintendent that oversees both facilities and faculty. In its vision statement, the district pledges to help students and staff "develop their maximum potential." The Michigan Peck schools are public schools.

    Peck School in Wisconsin

    • Wisconsin's Peck School is part of a public university.

      The Peck School of the Arts is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The school has departments of study in art and design, dance, film and music and theater and is the only institution in Wisconsin which offers teacher certification programs in the four disciplines of art, dance, music and theater. The Peck School of the Arts offers students performance opportunities as well as traditional study. The Music Department offers Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degree programs that allow a student to specialize in jazz, classical, finger-style or flamenco guitar styles.

    • There are a few cities or towns in the United States named Peck that can claim to have Peck schools, and some municipalities may have a school with "Peck" in its name. The city of Peck, Idaho, for example, can technically call all public and private schools in the city "Peck schools" and actually has a Peck Elementary School. Greensboro, North Carolina, has Clara J. Peck Elementary and Chicago, Illinois, has Peck Elementary School.
