Research the weather forecast for the day of the football game to get an estimate of the temperature.
Wear a pair of basic jeans. For extremely cold weather, add a pair of leggings underneath your jeans to keep your legs warm. Alternatively, wear a pair of snow pants over your jeans.
Layer your tops. Put on a camisole or T-shirt. Add an additional top with longer sleeves such as a long tunic, cardigan sweater or hooded sweatshirt.
Wear a vest or heavy winter coat that is easy to remove during the game if you become too warm.
Wear a scarf to protect your neck and face from the cold. Choose a thick stocking cap or other suitable hat that fits snugly over your ears. Wear a pair of insulated gloves to the football game to keep your fingers from freezing and feeling numb in bitter weather.
Put on a pair of wool socks, or wear two pairs of regular socks. Choose boots that are warm and comfortable for walking. Ensure that they offer adequate traction for walking up and down the bleachers.
