The Mineral Wells Independent School District has three elementary schools (Travis, Houston and Lamar) that serves pre-kindergarten through sixth grade; one junior high (Mineral Wells Junior High) that serves seventh and eight grades; and two high schools: Mineral Wells High and Mineral Wells Academy, an alternative school focusing on dropout prevention and dropout recovery. The MWISC provides a balance of athletic and fine arts programs and rigorous college prep/core subjects.
The private Community Christian School provides a biblically integrated curriculum for prekindergarten, kindergarten, elementary and high school-age children. The school provides a core curriculum, a strong spiritual focus and extracurricular athletics and fine arts programs. The Community Christian School is accredited by the International Christian Accrediting Association.
Weatherford College offers more than 35 areas of study and 19 professional/technical programs, including from accounting, aerospace, biology, communications, forensic science, health professions, kinesiology, social work and veterinary assisting. Students can take classes on campus, online and via two-way video. The college has Texas campuses in Weatherford and Decatur, and an educational center in Wolters Industrial Park in Mineral Wells.
Mineral Wells offers a variety of classes and courses for those who wish to continue their education on a more informal basis. Defensive Driving-Driverite provides offers in-home defensive driving courses; the Ryushinkan Karate Club is a martial arts school that offers shito ryu karate and shorin ryu karate; and Weatherford College offers a variety of adult education classes in topics ranging from welding, computer skills, certification programs and professional bartending.
