1. Minimum Age: 21 years old.
2. Citizenship or Immigration Status: U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or an individual authorized to work in the U.S.
3. Background Check: Clear background check, including criminal history and financial background.
4. Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license issued by the State of Illinois.
5. Physical Examination: Pass a physical examination by a physician authorized by the City.
6. Drug Test: Pass a drug test.
7. Taxi Driver Training Course: Complete a City-approved taxi driver training course.
8. Written Exam: Pass a written exam on the City of Chicago's taxi laws and regulations, as well as driver safety.
9. Knowledge of Chicago's Geography: Show knowledge of Chicago's streets and geography through a written exam and/or a driving test.
10. Vehicle Inspection: Pass a vehicle inspection for the taxi vehicle you intend to operate.
