Purchase or create large numeral cutouts and flashcards. You can purchase such supplies at a teacher's supply store or online at TeacherStoreHouse.com. Hang the numbers around the classroom, playroom or child's bedroom in order to keep them in sight. You will use the number flashcards for learning activities.
Assign a specific number each day and focus on mastering that specific number for the entire day. For example, if today's number is 1, base games and activities around the number 1. Also encourage your child to practice writing the number of the day.
Review numbers learned on previous days. Although it might be a "number 4 day," dedicate a few minutes each day to briefly reviewing previously learned numbers. Reviewing numbers will aid your child by keeping the knowledge readily available and furthering her ability to retain the information.
Allow your child to watch clips of "Sesame Street." "Sesame Street" chooses a number to focus on during each episode. The number is used as a theme throughout the show, which features short skits and songs about the number.
