Purchase a spelling curriculum. This can be done by going to a home-school fair or by ordering from a textbook catalog company like Christian Book Distributors. You can also find spelling curricula for sale on websites like Amazon or eBay.
Introduce the spelling words for the week on the first day and have your child write the word on an index card. Direct your child to look up the word in the dictionary so she knows what it means. Go over pronunciations. Complete any assignments in the textbook.
Ask your child to create a sentence for each spelling word on the second day. This reinforces both the spelling of the word, and how its definition. Complete any assignments in the textbook.

Draw pictures of the spelling words and place a blank underneath each one on the fourth day. Direct your child to fill in the blank with the correct spelling word. Review the words by quizzing with the spelling words that were written on the index cards. Complete any assignments in the textbook.
Administer the weekly spelling test on the fifth day. Give your child the words one at a time, and use them each in a sentence. Direct your child to write the words down. Grade the test.
