Georgia Homeschool Programs

Contrary to what those unfamiliar with homeschooling might envision, families who make the decision to homeschool their children often belong to organizations and follow certain programs. Their children socialize with other kids who learn from the same curriculum and even play sports with other homeschooled students. They also provide support for less-experienced homeschooling parents. There are numerous programs in most states, including Georgia, and metropolitan areas that interested parents can research.
  1. Georgia Home Education Association

    • The Georgia Home Education Association features a statewide network of families sharing the common goal of educating their children in a Biblical manner. The organization can put the families and groups in contact with one another and keeps members abreast of the status of and changes in homeschool law. The association also holds regular conventions regarding home education in Georgia and supplies its members with educational resources.

    New Creation Christian Academy

    • This college-style institution provides alternatives for both homeschooled and traditionally schooled 6th to 12th grade students. They can attend full-time or part-time and can take part in athletics as long as they meet eligibility requirements. Unlike other programs, NCCA has a physical campus; it's located at a church in McDonough, Ga. It's a resource to homeschoolers because students can elect to take some of their classes at the campus and don't have to be a full-time NCCA student to participate in their athletic program. Although the school is based on Christian values, it is non-denominational. They offer traditional school-related activities like prom and commencement exercises and play in traditional athletic conferences.
