How to Write a Resume for Agriculture

According to Dictionary.com, agriculture is "the science, art, or occupation concerned with cultivating land, raising crops, and feeding, breeding, and raising livestock; farming." People in the agriculture field usually work in zoos, university, botanical gardens and farms. An agricultural resume lists information relevant to experiences in agriculture.

      Center your name, address, telephone number, and email address at the top of the page, all on separate lines. Highlight all in bold. If you have a website or an online portfolio or other links relevant to your proficiency in agriculture, list them here.

      Type "Objective," highlight it in bold. Your objective should be one to two phrases stating your career goals as it pertains to agriculture. An example of an agriculture objective is, "To work as an agriculture professor at a well-known college or university."

      Next, type "Education," and highlight it in bold. List the college you attended, the degree you obtained, your GPA, and the date you graduated from the institution. In this section, you may also list any agricultural seminars or agricultural training that you participated in as long as it was educational and not for leisure.

      Below Education, type "Work Experience," and then highlight it in bold. List your past work experience in chronological order. Include the job name, your position title and the dates in which you worked at the establishment. List and describe your duties that you had at the job under each job name.

      Next, type "Proficiency and Honors," and highlight in bold. Use bullets to list your proficiency with the field and the honors you have received in agriculture. Some examples of thing you would list include proficiency in identifying pesticides, crop treatment, harvesting, member of an agricultural association, and president of a fruit and vegetable organization. Click "File" and "Save," and then "File" and "Print."
