How to Write a Scholarship Resume

As a student looking for ways to finance your education and lessen your dependence on student loans, hunting and applying for scholarships is quickly becoming a real job. There are applications to fill out, essays to write and references to gather. Some scholarship organizations may even ask you to write a scholarship resume. A scholarship resume is a one-page document that briefly showcases your education, work experience, skills and achievements.

      Create a new document in your word processing program. List your full name, address, e-mail address and phone number at the top of the page.

      Make an "Education" subhead. List the name of your school, date of graduation, GPA and class rank.

      Make a "Work Experience" subhead. List the dates you held each job, the business, the location, your job title and duties.

      Make a "Volunteer Work" subhead. List the dates you volunteered and names of the organizations in which you participated and briefly describe the work you performed for each.

      Make an "Awards" subhead. List any awards or honors you received, as well as the years you received them.

      Make a "Skills" subhead. List areas in which you are proficient, such as playing the piano, creating websites or speaking a foreign language.
