AAU accepts cash payments. Check, debit card and credit card payments can be made online or by phone in most circumstances. The U.S. Patriot Act includes provisions and protocol for electronic funds transfers that assist students and their families. Debit cards are obtained by students in which funds may be loaded and shared among various bank accounts, enabling parents of students to conveniently provide tuition and receive applicable refunds.
AAU provides an interest-free installment plan for select semesters. The option consists of up to four months of payments made to the accounts receivable department. Interested parties apply online through a student self-service option and must complete a contract to be considered for approval. Payments must be made on or before due dates, or fees and penalties may apply, including cancellation of the installment plan and loss of student status.
The Office of Federal Student Aid ensures that eligible individuals can benefit from federally funded financial assistance for education beyond high school. Money is provided for college to eligible students and families, and AAU assists families in exploring federal aid as a payment option. The Office of Federal Student Aid and AAU collaborate to educate students and families on the process of obtaining aid. Further information may be obtained from the AAU website and through its Office of Admissions.
Eligible students receive money for college though California grant programs, and the funds do not have to be repaid. An application is required and applicants can begin the process prior to graduating from high school. Student grade point average and household income must be reported and verified. The funds are used for college expenses in addition to tuition if awarded. AAU partners with the California Student Aid Commission in offering grant programs as a payment option.
