Obtain the prerequisites before applying for an EFDA Associate Degree. You must be a Registered Dental Hygienist, Certified Dental Assistant, or have successfully passed an assessment exam. You also need current CPR and X-ray certifications.
Obtain more detailed information about registration and requirements in an EDFA course from an admissions counselor or program director for the EDFA program or programs you are interested in.
Fill out an application form for the EDFA program. Application forms may be available online, or you may have to contact the admissions office. In addition to the usual biographical data, the EDFA application will ask about previous work experience, training and certifications. Complete the form and submit it. You may apply to multiple schools concurrently.
Wait to hear from the school or schools. Once you are approved for a program, choose an available class date for the EDFA course you are interested in. Register with the school. Registration may be available online, while other schools require that you contact the school directly and come in personally to register for the course.
