The Songwriting school is in the music-studio-rich region of Burbank, California. The school offers youth and adult programs for all skill levels. Students have the opportunity to enroll in classes ranging from basic music theory to advanced digital production techniques. The classes focus on the creative enterprise as well as the business strategies required for profits. Classes are taught by professional musicians and songwriters and are available in single and multiple-day formats. Many of the classes take place at night and on the weekends to accommodate working students.
Nashville is the epicenter of country music in the United States. The city is also home to a number of recording studios that cater to rock 'n' roll and hip hop. The Nashville School of Music offers 45 classes, all of which are taught by professional singers and songwriters. Many of the courses are taught inside of a master recording studio and students will learn creative songwriting, music fundamentals and digital recording techniques.
Hyde is a boarding school with a campus in Bath, Maine, and a campus in Woodstock, New York. The school encourages students to explore their creative passions by offering workshops and specialty courses. Hyde offers two four-day songwriting workshop for its students with one on campus and the other in Nashville. The annual course is hosted by the music director and it is taught by guests from the music industry.
The Berklee College of music is a New England school with physical, Internet and correspondence courses. The school offers a certificate program for songwriting and the all of the courses are available for credit and non-credit students. The program is focused on fundamental songwriting techniques and creative production. Business oriented classes are not available but students do have the opportunity to work with music professionals and learn about different selling points.
