Go to websites such as Learn-english-online.org or the Learn English site from the British Council (see resources). Services like these provide a wealth of ESOL resources which will be of great help to beginners. Some of these services contain content that's used by qualified ESOL teachers in the classroom.
Contact the Hernando County School Board to iquire about ESOL courses run for parents if you have a child in school. The Board runs a free service to improve family literacy in the area and classes are available for parents who want to learn English or study towards their GED test. Schools under the board's control also run ESOL courses for students.
Register for an online ESOL course. The fact that Hernando doesn't boast a high number of quality language schools doesn't mean you have to travel to find one or miss out altogether. Several online language schools offer one-to-one or group tutelage by video conference or Skype. To sign up for an English course, try English4today.com or Berlitz (see Resources).
