Located in Northern California, Mendocino Ecological Learning Center offers courses, tours and training in sustainable living and ecological design. The center's goals include the preservation and restoration of local ecosystems and habitats, as well as collaborating with schools to create eco-literacy programs. In addition, Mendocino aims to promote socially responsible practices by homes, communities and businesses. Its programs include the Sustainable Skills Camp, the Green Jobs Training program (for environmentally friendly industries) and the Youth Education Program.
La Vista Ecological Learning Center in Godfrey, Illinois, is run by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Its courses are not focused solely on nature issues, but also aim toward the spiritual connection of the body with the environment. The center's Earth literacy courses include the Exploring the Sacred Universe program, which allows participants to contemplate the environment, participate in guided activities and develop practical skills for a more ecologically conscious life.
Genesis Farm's mission is to raise questions about global ecological crises, focusing on the connection between environmental problems and human communities. Located in the Great Limestone Valley of northwest New Jersey, the farm offers Earth Literacy and Transition Culture courses, as well as seasonal and memorial celebration programs. Also available are activities to honor local and seasonal food and the land.
The mission of the Center for Ecozoic Studies is to provide a clear view of the ecozoic society through research, education and the arts. Ecozoic derives from the Greek words "oikos" and "zoi," meaning house of life. The center runs Artists and Writers for the Ecozoic, a program supporting aspiring artists and writers who are who are interested in ecozoic subjects; the Wisdom Project; and a number of educational events. It also conducts ecological programs and projects internationally.
