How to Do a Scripture Chase

A scripture chase helps motivate students to study, memorize and learn where specific passages are located in the scriptures. Scriptures are a compilation of books made up by verses. Before a scripture chase can take place, students must have sufficient time to read and memorize the verses that are used during the competition. The end goal or object of a scripture chase needs to aim at helping students learn about the teachings contained in the scriptures.

Instructions

    • 1

Ask everyone in the room to set their scriptures on their desks in front of them. The books must be closed.

    • 2

Read, aloud, a verse from one of the scriptures that was included in their study. As soon as you begin reading, the students can begin the scripture chase.
