Instructions

    • 1

Establish the picture you want to draw by searching through magazines and photos. Preferably, pick a picture where the woman is standing with her hands outstretched.

    • 2

Sketch a long line in the shape of the pose using a light pencil. This line expresses motion and helps you to add other lines to the sketch.

    • 3

Draw the outline of an hour glass-figured woman using block shapes; draw an oval shape as the head, an inverted triangle for the torso, ovals for the upper arm, the forearm and hand and elongated ovals for the hips, thighs and feet.

    • 4

Refine the edges in circular curves to create a smooth and curvy outline. Erase the guidelines made by the block shapes.

    • 5

Extend an axis on the sketch, from the head dividing the body into identical halves. This is to guide you in proportions.

    • 6

Place the tracing paper over the original drawing. Sketch a new outline with broader shoulders, wider hips and a larger bust.

    • 7

Connect the curves, refining the edge with short circular strokes using a dark pencil, to reveal your final sketch.
