Aluminum Bending Tools

Aluminum is preferred to other metals because it is cost effective, does not wear out easily like other metals such as iron and is not as poisonous as some metals like lead. When using aluminum, you alter its shape by using specific tools to get the required length for whatever purpose. Aluminum- bending tools modify the shape of the aluminum material by applying force. Different tools bend different aluminum materials; a tool used for bending aluminum sheets might not be applicable in bending rods or pipes.
  1. Twisting Tool

    • Twisting tools are handy in bending a huge piece of an aluminum bar by putting tension on the aluminum materials. This tool resembles a rod with centrally placed holes with handles at both of its ends. Depending on the length and radius of the bar, different twisting tools can bend different sizes of aluminum. For example a rectangular twisting tool twists bars with small diameters while a square twisting tool bends an aluminum bar of large diameter.

    Universal Fabricator

    • The universal fabricator is specifically for bending metal rods. You operate the fabricators manually or use hydraulic or electric power. Manually you operate the fabricator by applying effort on the tool to bend the aluminum material whereas, the hydraulic power requires you to apply pressure on its gauges or presses. An electric universal fabricator on the other hand, requires electricity to bend the aluminum rod.

    Pedestal Arch Ring Roller

    • The pedestal arch ring roller bends aluminum into a ring shape and when correctly used it produces perfect rings. The tool can also bend an aluminum material to form a shape that causes the material to have a spring effect. The end result of this type of bending is that the aluminum loses its sturdiness and also start thinning out due to the bending and springing it undergoes.

    Universal Metal Bender

    • The universal metal bender bends any metallic material and is useful when bending aluminum materials. However, it is mostly used to bend the metals when the metal is in pipe form. This tool twists the aluminum pipe sideways, backward or forward enabling it to form any pipe shape. Apart from bending pipes, you can also use it to carefully bend flat aluminum materials into right angles.

    Pliers

    • A pair of pliers is a small portable tool that has two teeth and two handles at its posterior end used to bend aluminum wires. When using the pliers apply force on the handles and the teeth clamp on the aluminum being bent. This tool is handy when bending thin materials and you are likely to face difficulties when bending thick pieces of metal. Furthermore, the pliers is a single-stage tool, meaning it can only bend the aluminum wire in one direction if you use force on it.
