Write a letter explaining your trip, needs and ideas.
Send your letter, printed on a letterhead with your name, address and phone number to everyone you know. You might also want to send it to organizations that might have a contribution fund that could help you. If the trip is a religious endeavor, send it to churches, religious organizations and ministers you might be familiar with.
Set up a website or a blog that people may contribute from. Using Paypal or another internet banking system may enable you to raise more money than you would otherwise. Email links to your site to people you know.
Be honest and use integrity in your quest to raise funds. If you are open and honest about what your plans are, you will get more donations.
