First, make a collection of all free and premium public record services available. Here's a list of websites I found:
- whitepages.com
- intelius.com
- ussearch.com
- peoplefinders.com
- zabasearch.com
- anywho.com
Try and write "public records search" or "background check" (without the quotes) into Google and Yahoo and take a list of websites.
Every website containing its own database should have instructions on how to remove yourself from that database. It is usually listed in their "Terms of use" section.
I prefer to use Google by the entering the following query:
remove from database site:www.nameofthesite.com
For example, I'll write:
remove from database site:www.whitepages.com
This will search for information on whitepages.com on how to remove myself from their database.
Now, do this on every site and write down each page address where instructions are provided on how to remove yourself from their database.
Now, simply using the instructions on each page contact them and request removal. You're done!
You can eventually order a background report about yourself and see what types of information is available about you. The company I recommend you use is USSearch (link below in the resources section.)
