How to Convert a LPM to a M3

Liters per minute is a measurement used in engineering to determine the rate of flow of an object. Another common flow unit measurement, is M3, which is a measurement of flow in terms of cubic meters. M3 comes in a few common varieties, so you must determine the time rate at which you wish to measure M3.

Instructions

    • 1

Calculate your LPM by measuring the amount of flow in liters that occurs over the course of exactly one minute.

    • 2

Multiply your LPM by .001, or divide your LPM by 1,000. The product of this calculation is your M3 as measured in meters per minute.

    • 3

Select another kind of M3 you wish to convert your LPM to. You may want to convert LPM to M3/second or M3/hour. For the former, multiply your LPM by 0.0000167 to get a per-second measurement. For the latter, multiply LPM by .06 to calculate a per-hour measurement.
