ASL Learning Games

Learning a new language can often be time consuming and less than entertaining. There are still many languages spoken in each country, though, and this often leads to a need to learn another language. Specifically, people who are deaf or cannot talk use American Sign Language, and anyone who wishes to communicate with them must use it as well.
  1. Sign the Alphabet

    • An online game provided by FunBrain allows users to get familiar with the letters of the alphabet and signing them. There are two levels of play: one lets you select the letter from multiple choice and the other lets you type the letter or number you see.

    ASL Jeopardy

    • Play the online game of "American Sign Language Jeopardy." Choose a level answer and then select the question that best fits the picture you see. New games are quickly generated by selecting "New Game." This game is played on ASLpro.com

    Deaf Bingo

    • In deaf bingo, instead of calling out numbers, you can sign them. There are many variations, but you can print or use blank bingo sheets and put words or pictures on them. The players must then watch the caller to see what they are signing.

    Sign It!

    • "Sign It!" is a board game that is discontinued but can still be found on auction and classified sites. In this game you choose a card and have 30 seconds to spell it or use the sign for it. This encourages people to get comfortable with many words and the alphabet if they need to spell something out.
