Use a small hacksaw to chop dog biscuits into small pieces. Pieces the size of a fingernail are suitable. Saw a groove in each piece's surface.
Place a small dab of superglue within the groove of a piece of dog biscuit. Do not apply more than a large drop of glue, and avoid touching it directly with your fingertips.
Stick the piece of dog biscuit to the shank of a hook. Position the shank inside the glue. Secure the two items together by pressing the hook firmly into the groove. Avoid squeezing it too strongly to prevent breaking the dog biscuit.
Attach the hook to your fishing line. Do this by threading the fishing line through the eye of the hook and tying a suitable knot. You can use a snell knot, palomar knot, trilene knot or uni knot. Alternatively, simply tie a double knot and pull the ends tightly together so it remains in place.
Sit on the bank of a river or lake, close to shaded areas of trees or scrubs. Carp tend to base themselves in these areas, so this improves your chances of a catch.
Cast the rod out directly under the trees. Check that the dog biscuit bait has not fallen off the hook, and then wait until a carp goes for the food.
Watch the bait closely, and do not remove your glare. As soon as you see the carp going for the food, prepare to pull the line in. Then, just as the carp bites on the dog biscuit, reel it in.
