Ask friends, English as a Second Language teachers and family members if they can recommend a good English program that is available on CD.
Visit your local library and see what is available. Ask a librarian for help if your aren't sure which program is best. Sign out English CD packages and evaluate them. Buy your own copy if you don't want to keep signing out the CDs.
Pick a CD program that includes a workbook or printable downloads. Listening is an effective way to learn, but if you can supplement the material you hear on the CD with written exercises, you will learn English quicker.
Listen and imitate. The helpful thing about a CD is that you can replay it as often as you need to until you can pronounce the words like a native speaker. If you are commuting and don't want other drivers to think you are talking to yourself, wear headphones and they will assume you are talking on your cellphone.
Buy or download English music to CDs and sing along. Songs are an effective way to learn English. Rap, if you like that genre, is particularly good as the same words are repeated many times. Easy listening country and western music is another consideration.
Read along with the English CDs. Follow the written dialogue and imitate the native speaker. Like doing the exercises that come with the CDs, reading and listening reinforces the English learning experience.
