Grants for Women for Online Degrees

Starting or returning to school can increase employment opportunities and incomes. However the cost of education deters many from pursuing degree programs. Fortunately, there are grants available to help women pursue their educational goals via traditional or online methods.
  1. The Jeanette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund

    • The Jeanette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund was established in 1978 to help women pursue a university education. Scholarship funds are open to women age 35 or older who are U.S. citizens pursuing either a vocational or technical degree at an accredited institution. The funding is intended for women in low-income households. As of 2010, the Jeanette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund has helped more than 500 women obtain degrees.

    The Mayer Foundation

    • The Mayer Foundation was created in March 2002 and provides funding for a variety of purposes. It provides economic relief grants to people who are suffering from impoverished conditions, disasters, death of a family member who was a wage earner, damage to homes, and other life and financially altering situations. The funding is not exclusively limited to women or to educational purposes. However, women are eligible, and education is one of the goals the foundation funds. Grant sizes vary but, as of 2010, typically range from $2,500 to $5,000.
