The Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWTF) sponsors a grant program for women to pursue information technology careers. MCWTF disseminates four awards at multiple education levels. The winner of MCWTF’s high school grant receives $20,000. One undergraduate student and one graduate student receive awards of $15,000 each. A $3,000 research grant is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student and three laptop/printer grants are also given. Students must be residents of Michigan as well as U.S. citizens. A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required. Part-time college students are eligible. Applications are available online.

Vanguard, an investment management company based in Pennsylvania, sponsors a program for female college seniors majoring in information technology or related fields. Each student selected for an award receives an $8,000 merit-based scholarship. Up to 10 awards are granted each year. Students must be enrolled full-time at a four-year institution, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. The Association for Women in Science offers scholarships for women pursuing a Ph.D. in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). According to the organization's definition, STEM includes information technology and information science. Students must be in the advanced stages of their doctoral program. Approximately 5–10 awards are given each year in the amount of $1,000. Applicants must be enrolled in a university in the United States. Foreign nationals can apply for the awards.

The National Center for Women and Information Technology Award provides awards to young women at the high school level. Awardees are selected based on their technology achievements, leadership ability and post-high school plans. The award is sponsored by Bank of America. Each winner receives $500, a laptop and a trip to the annual Bank of America Technology Showcase and Awards ceremony. Nearly 200 students received awards in 2010.
