The Mercer County Career Center opened in October of 1970 and features intensive programs and courses on different trades such as auto body repair, building trade maintenance and computer office technology. Formerly known as the Mercer County Area Vocational-Technical School before undergoing a name change in 1992, this school is situated in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The diesel mechanics program featured at the school instructs students on proper ways to diagnose, service and repair different types of diesel engines while using modern scanning tools and computer equipment. While enrolled in the diesel mechanics program, students will learn hydraulic repair techniques, electronic system repair and the skills needed to fix a diesel truck's pneumatic systems.
