    Advanced Technology Institute

    • The Advanced Technology Institute's Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Program prepares students to work on farm equipment, ships, boats, aircraft, road construction vehicles and trucks. Students participate in hands-on training in a student shop, where they work on 400-to-12,000-pound vehicles and those with manual and automatic transmission. Students also work in a fuel injection shop and work on an actual tractor-trailer. Upon completion of the program, students can obtain a certification.

    Lincoln Group of Schools

    • Lincoln Group of Schools has campuses across the United States. The school's Diesel Training Program teaches students how to work on 18-wheelers, buses, mining equipment, trains and construction equipment. Students learn in a shop where they get hands-on experience in diesel engines, brakes, fuel systems and hydraulics. Other coursework includes diagnosing electrical issues, learning about diesel electrical systems, chassis, diesel engine repair and hydraulic applications.

      Depending on the campus, students earn a diploma, associate's degree or bachelor's degree. The school also has a placement assistance center to help its graduates find employment.
